How Quickly Time Passes!

So I realize that in my last post I claimed that I would keep up with this blog better; however, it seems the only thing I am really keeping up with in my 20 month old ball of energy!  We are having such a fun spring and seem to be constantly on the go!  We are loving the longer daylight hours and try to fit in as many outdoor activities as we can outside of work and school.  Here are some things we have been up to : )

On the way to school, true to form, with hat on and car in hand!  Noah's favorite thing to do on the way to school is spot school buses and bikes (motorcycles).

If Noah does not have a hat on hand, a pair of sunglasses will do just fine!  In fact, if we get in the car and if the sun is shining anywhere in the car, Noah will throw his hands up in his face and yell "The sum!  My eyes!  My gasses (glasses)!"  Oh the drama!

And while we are talking about accessories, it should be known that Noah will wear just about any accessory he comes across!  This was during breakfast one Saturday morning and I must say that Bryan and I got quite a kick out of watching him run around in this headband!  Let me just go ahead and say that the person who gives my child a fanny pack is dead meat!!  Noah is the ULTIMATE tacky tourist!!

My mom and I took Noah to the art show at Renaissance a couple Saturdays ago and while Noah did not seem too interested in the art, he was super excited to find a school bus parked in the parking lot.  The bus driver was so sweet and let Noah have a tour and photo-op with the "cool bus"

With the impending arrival of Noah's little brother, Ethan, Noah has now been moved to his big boy room complete with bunk beds, desk, and dresser!  He has transitioned beautifully!  He LOVES his new bed and room and has slept all night, every night since his move!  Noah will point to his bed rail and yell "my cars".  Noah is VERY into Disney's Cars and Toy Story and usually can be found with a figure from one of the two movies in hand at all times!

FuzziBunz cloth diaper
Over the last couple of months, I have been cloth diapering Noah at home with big plans to cloth diaper Ethan full time.  I thought it would be easier to work out the "kinks" with Noah rather than with my newborn when I am sleep deprived and nursing.  I like the cloth diapers more that I thought I would especially once I got a complete system in place to make the process easier.  Here are a couple of pictures of Noah sporting his new diapers!

We spend a lot of time with Noah's best friend, Reese, playing outside, meeting for ice cream dates, and most of all playing with water!  These two can't seem to get enough of the water play, which is really a good thing since with live in the Mississippi heat!

As far as the summer goes, we have lots of upcoming fun times!  This weekend we are making our annual trip to the NASCAR race in Talladega, AL with Bryan's family.  I am pretty sure Noah will be in heaven this year seeing as how his world revolves around cars or anything with an engine or a steering wheel!  Next weekend we are headed to the Bayou to spend Easter with Bryan's parents and pick up our new car (good-bye Yukon!  Hello Suburban!).  On May 27th I will be graduating from the University of MS Medical Center with another masters degree and officially putting my continuing education path on an indefinite hold so that I have more time to devote to my growing family.  On June 1st I will officially be a part-time employee of UMC.......yahoo!!!!  I am so excited to finally be cutting back on my work hours!  I think this will help make nursing more convenient and will help limit Ethan's exposure to illness by being in childcare less.  We have had such a rough time with Noah's health and we are hoping to have better luck with Ethan's!  And that brings us to June.....

With the arrival of our precious Ethan Dudley Gaspard!  We can't wait to meet you little man!
Noah has been learning all about becoming a big brother, helping me get Ethan's room ready, reading books about brothers, and of course talking to Ethan or "Efan" in my belly and yelling "Come out Efan".  I think he is really excited and I think he is going to be a great big brother!  I am tentatively scheduled for a c-section on June 21st; however, because of my history of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), they are watching Ethan's growth very closely and will take him sooner if necessary.  We already know that he will be small but that seems to be normal for me so nobody is worried at this point!  As far as we can tell, he is strong and healthy!

Happy Spring Everyone!!

(I really am going to try and do better with the updates, but I recognize that at this point I need to just put my money where my mouth is and update more often!!)
